The preparation and antibacterial properties of the crude sodium salts of some synthetic penicillins.

چکیده
In previous communications (l-3) it has been demonstrated that the antibiotic activity (4) produced by heating n-penicillamine (II) hydrochloride hydrate with 2-benzyl-4-methoxymethylene-5(4)-oxazolone (I) in pyridine is due to the synthesis of benzylpenicillin. Because of these results there can be little doubt that, when oxazolones substituted with other groups in the 2 position are condensed with penicillamine hydrochloride in pyridine, the antibiotic activity (1, 4) produced is due to the synthesis of penicillins differing from benzylpenicillin in the nature of the

Antibacterial effects of crude venom and their protein fractions of Hottentotta saulcyi scorpion
Introduction: Infectious diseases, mainly caused by bacterial agents, are one of the most common causes of death worldwide. A significant number of these agents have been resistant to one or more antibiotics; some of them are multi-drug resistant and others are extensively drug resistant. Various antimicrobial and anticancer compounds have been reported from the venom of various species of scor...
متن کاملElectrophoretic Pattern and Antibacterial Activity of Proteins from Vicia Faba Seed Extract
ABSTRACT Background Antibiotic resistance makes antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) agents an alternative for treatment of pathogenic diseases. They are isolated from various animals invertebrates, vertebrates and plants. The present study shows the electrophoretic pattern of protein and peptides from Vicia Faba seed and reports our first attempt to study the antibacterial activity of Vicia faba...
متن کاملConductometric Study of the Thermodynamics of Micellization of Sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) in the Presence of Some Aromatic Ammonium Salts
The effect of three organic aromatic salts - Phenyltrimethylammonium (PhTMAB), benzyltrimethylammonium (BzTMAB) and benzyltrimethylammonium (BzTEAB) bromides - on the micellization of sodium dodecylsulfate has been investigated by conductometric method. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) values were found to decrease with increase in the concentration of the aromatic ammonium salts. Therm...
متن کاملInhibition Properties and Thermodynamic Changes of Binding of p-perazine-bis and p-peridine Dithiocarbamate Sodium Salts to Mushroom Tyrosinase
A mono- and a bi-functional dithiocarbamates as sodium salts were obtained by treating p-peridine or p-perazine in aceton-water mixture with CS2 in the presence of NaOH. These anionic water soluble compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopic studies. Both compounds (p-peridine (I) and p-perazine-bis dithiocarbam...
متن کاملThe history of the therapeutic use of crude penicillin.
The antibacterial properties of culture filtrates of Penicillium notatum were discovered in 1928 by Alexander Fleming,' but the realization of penicillin's full therapeutic potential had to await the contributions of Florey and Chain some twelve years later.2 Although early samples of the penicillin salts produced at Oxford were remarkably potent, they were not very pure,3 and difficulties with...
